[Rant’s Note: This post is the beginning of a new, semi-regular feature here, which will add a new dimension to the coverage here at the original RYHO, along with keeping the content a bit fresher and more up to date. My guess is that it will evolve a bit over time, as these things often do. With that said, I’ll let strbuk tell the rest of the story.]

A while back I “tweeted” about wanting to post a few things now and then about Floyd Landis’ comeback to the pro cycling peloton. I am also still very interested in discussing and passing along information about the ongoing efforts by WADA/UCI to rid cycling of “cheaters”.

Rant read my tweet and proposed we pool our efforts. Our plans are to post a couple of times a week (maybe more some weeks, maybe less others) with links to stories and images relating to races in which Floyd might be participating. In that vein a calendar of upcoming events will also be provided, and any input from all of you would be welcome. OUCH’s website does not necessarily put up all of the races they will be involved in (such as the Battenkill race) and when you hear they are coming your way we would love to know.

We are also keenly interested in keeping up with the latest news abut the UCI’s biopassports, new doping tests developed by WADA, and ongoing cases. So, we’ll be posting what we can find from news reports as well as what bloggers have to say.

We’ll also include things like this preview of the Redlands  Bicycle Classic that will help keep you up to date what what Floyd Landis is doing these days.

We hope this will be entertaining, interesting, sometimes amusing, and  always illuminating (on a small scale of course  :-). We’re back!

VERY NICE!!! I like the thought of a site that keeps us abreast of Floyds doings. It is very difficult to keep track of him (UNTIL such time that he is back on a Pro liscensed team riding in Europe anyway). I know the info is probably out there, but unfortuanetly my time to ‘browse’ is lrather imited….look forward to seeing how this works out!

Thanks Rant and Strbuk. I’ll be attempting to walk the fine line of being interested, without being overly interested.

Floyd’s an intriguing individual and racer. I wish him and Ouch all the best and look forward to catching a few races.

Had the debacle that was the aftermath of the 2006 TdF never happened, I would likely have shrugged my shoulders and simply been content that a local guy had attained such success. I don’t want to be anything that remotely resembles a stalker, but I am interested in what happens with his cycling career, especially after the injustice I witnessed the system dish out. He fought the good fight and took the foregone conclusion with as much grace as could possibly be expected. Peace, happiness, and best of luck in the future, Floyd.

Just when I’d completed my therapy for the closure of Trustbut, you go recruit Strbk. Next thing you know, Larry will be tweeting….and I’ll need to break out my hypertension drugs. Mrs. eightzero shakes her head when I bring up the Landis case, and I get red in the face: “you’re obsessed.” Imagine if twitter had been around in July 2006 and the aftermath, I’d be in a mental institution. Now you’re back to torment me again!

Ok, breathing again…

Rant March 26, 2009 at 7:59 pm

Not to torment you … just to keep you up to date on what’s going on in the world. Really, that’s all. 😉

strbuk March 26, 2009 at 8:30 pm

Well, maybe torment is not EXACTLY the right word…. LOL
