Floyd Landis on yesterday’s Southland action:

“The weather yesterday and today was really nice, and yeah it’s a hard race, so it’s nice as if we’re just touring around enjoying it but it’s been good,”

It indeed looks like FloydLandis has been making up lots of ground in the Tour of Southland the past two days.
ESPN reports that he has moved up to 14th place on GC with Heath Blackgrove maintaining the lead:

Landis finished the 102-mile ride between Winton and Te Anau on New Zealand’s South Island 4 seconds behind stage winner Patrick Bevan. The American is 11 minutes, 56 seconds behind overall leader Heath Blackgrove of New Zealand.

Landis was among the leading group throughout Friday’s stage and was able to hold onto a prominent placing in a sprint finish. The tour concludes with two stages Saturday.

Stages 8 and 9 (both on November 7th) will occur later today our time (Saturday PM in New Zealand) and you can preview stage 8 here on the website  and stage 9 here.

Lastly here’s a link to tour photos which are complete up to stage 5.
